A free and simple utility that gives users the ability to disable the startup chime, StartNinja will keep the Macs boot sound quiet while allowing the Mac to retain normal sound function otherwise. If you’re interested in getting StartupNinja to silence your Mac startup chime, you can download it from the developer here. Sound Control enables application-specific volume sliders on the Mac. In addition to Menu Bar controls, Sound Control can also be configured with user-defined keyboard shortcuts to adjust the level of a foreground app, or mute any background app. Using Sound Control is dead simple.
There are a few things to consider if you can't get sound from your mac's speakers. You should have three volume controls that double as function keys. The one farthest right (looks like a speaker) turns it up, the one in the middle turns it down and the one to the left mutes the speakers. Depending on your setup in system preferences the volume controls may require you to press the function (fn button on bottom left of keyboard) in order to activate the volume controls. If your mac is muted and you plug in headphones, the headphones may emit sound. You can then also mute the headphones by pressing the mute button I explained. (The controls work somewhat independently if you're using headphones or the computer speakers). You may want to look in system preferences under the icon 'sound' and make sure the mute button isn't checked. Also check the output tab in the sound preferences and make sure the internal speakers are checked. If you ever use an external audio interface there may be a few more things to consider.

Mail User Guide
A Smart Mailbox displays email messages that are stored in other mailboxes and that meet certain criteria you specify. Download ruby installer for mac. For example, a Smart Mailbox could include all the messages you receive about a specific project, regardless of which mailboxes the messages are stored in.
Tip: Mail provides a default Smart Mailbox named Today, which shows messages viewed during the current day. If you don’t see it in the Mail sidebar, move the pointer over the Smart Mailboxes section, then click Show.

Create Smart Mailbox folders
If you have Smart Mailboxes, you can organize them into Smart Mailbox folders.
If you change a message in a Smart Mailbox—such as marking the message as read or unread, or moving or deleting the message—the change is reflected in the mailbox where the message is stored.
